Rethinking the territory.
On some issues from the field experience in the North Western Argentina

From the traditionally established practices, there is a conceptualization of territory that refers mainly to ecological-geopolitical factors. In opposition to this perspective in which it is a concrete space not traversed by time and referable according to geographical coordinates, we consider that in our archaeological and daily practice we transit diverse, dynamic territories, with a sense of social relationship. The experience of dialogue with the communities makes us reflect on how do we understand territory? How does this conceptualization influence when thinking about the circuits of social interaction that are the focus of our research? In this sense, the dialogue with communities, territorially located, makes us inquire into the diversity of conceptualizations and how they can influence our interpretations of the past and its implications in the present.
