In the last decades, many historiographical studies dealt with the analysis of the development of phenomenon of association sociability in the Rio de la Plata Provinces, highlighting its connections and/or relations with the process of political and state organization of the nineteenth century. Such studies have shifted the problem of political stability from its traditional institutional field by emphasizing the relationship between the associative and political spheres. This paper follows that interpretative line and proposes to advance in the analysis and characterization of associations in the Province of Mendoza between 1852 and the turn of the century, at which point its expansion and development occur.
