This paper presents the results of the experience carried out from the project Sorteando los avatares del tiempo (Overcoming the pass of time) within the program Territorio de Encuentros (Meeting Territories) promoted by the Ministry of Innovation and Culture of the Province of Santa Fe. This project began to be developed towards the beginning of 2017, aiming at carrying out an integral renovation of the archeological area of the José M. Maciel Museum in Coronda city (Santa Fe). Although this institution is one of the most important local museums in the province because of its rich archeological heritage, for more than two decades the collections conserved there did not have a relevant and systematic treatment. From the relationship developed between the new management policy, the Corondá community and the team of archaeologists who began to research into the area, the museum's conception was updated and transformed. The work perspective adopted here discusses the notion of the museum space as a mere repository of materials. On the contrary, it conceptualizes the museum as a dynamic site of archaeological work and a social space where relations between past and present are reconsidered.
