Design of didactic materials in English for the internationalization of the curriculum

Abstract

One of the key aspects of the ongoing efforts of universities to respond to the challenges of a  constantly changing world is the internationalization of the curriculum. This process aims to integrate international, intercultural, and global dimensions intothe objectives, teaching and learning processes, research, and extension functions of the university (Knight, 1994). In this sense, this study analyses the design proposal of didactic material for English courses in degree programs of the Faculty of Physical, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (FCFMyN) at the National University of San Luis. The objective of this study is to make visible ways of contributing to current debates on the relationship between language teaching and internationalization processes in universities. The analysis was conducted in two stages: firstly, the description of the proposal itself, and secondly, the reflection on the experience in light of implementation perspectives and its potential impact, which is expected to foster skills required for international contexts, such as  intercultural communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. Thus, this study  aims to constitute a reflective contribution to the value of language teaching in the processes of  curriculum internationalization.
